Our Standard
Our standard
What goes in. What stays out.
Every MIORA towel starts with long-staple cotton grown in the Aegean region of Turkey — the same terroir that's produced the world's finest cotton for centuries. We use nothing else.
The material
Aegean long-staple cotton.
Long-staple cotton produces longer, finer fibers than standard cotton. The result is a fabric that's stronger, softer, and more absorbent — and it gets better with age. Unlike polyester blends that degrade and pill, our towels improve with every wash cycle.
We chose the Aegean region specifically for its climate: hot, dry summers produce cotton with exceptional fiber length and uniformity. The cotton is harvested, combed, and ring-spun before being woven into terry cloth at a GSM (grams per square meter) that balances absorbency with quick-dry performance.
Independently verified
Third-party tested.
Every MIORA fabric run is sent to an independent textile lab for testing — to verify the cotton content, confirm there are no synthetic blends, and check for harmful chemical residues. We won't ship a single towel that hasn't been verified.
This is the same kind of independent testing the world's most rigorous textile certifications rely on. We don't make the lab results up — we share them.
What we leave out
The blacklist.
- PolyesterSheds microplastic fibers with every wash. Found in the majority of mass-market towels.
- Synthetic softenersChemical coatings that reduce absorbency over time and leave residue on skin.
- Wrinkle-resistant treatmentsOften formaldehyde-based. We press and fold instead.
- Optical brightenersUV-reactive chemicals that simulate whiteness. Our whites are naturally white.
